Friend Finder is another site that has tried to bring people all over the world a little closer to each other through its online communities. It is a sister site of Adult Friend Finder although it is not dwelling in the mature or sexual aspect of dating or meeting people. They are somewhat focused on letting members create new friends, find old friends or activity partners, search for romance, or long distance pals. It allows for both local and international connections through its chat rooms, advice columns, instant messaging, email service, and many more.
If you want to become a member, you have to accomplish the membership form and submit it. Basic or standard is for free although you don’t get as much features available for the paying members. There are two types of paid membership available the silver membership which costs $ 19.94 per month and the gold membership which costs $ 29.94 per month. The silver membership has features like unlimited emailing to members, advanced search options, instant messaging, faster approvals, access to contact details of other members, and many more. The gold membership has all the features of the silver plus faster searches, access to other member ID’s, larger photo views, and top listing.
Upon entering the site, you can directly access the free membership page by clicking on the graphic link or the text link. You can also search for members by category, age, country or regional location, or just click on the whole listings. The chat rooms are searchable by location or topic. Examples of the topic rooms are Love Doctors, Club House, and Clean Room. Aside from the interaction that you get in the chat rooms, you can also communicate with other members through email, postings, advice columns, polls, stories, and articles.
You can look for a match in this site by specifying the type of person that you’re looking for. All you need to do is give your gender and gender preference, age and age preference, country or state, name, interests. You can also give a little description if you prefer to.
Friend Finder allows you to view member photos and videos, read e-zines, articles and poems, access technical support online or through phone, send voice messages and instant messages, send electronic cards, 24 hour access available 24/7, update of videos and audio greetings, access to member database, and many more. They also have a workshop available to members who want to improve their social and dating skills.
The only trouble I had in touring this site is that they did not allow non-members to view more than one page of the listings. I was about to exit after checking out the seekers when I was asked to sign in after the first page. Also, if you want to get a full view of the member’s profiles and pictures, you have to become either a silver or gold member. I think that is not fair for the basic or standard members because they don’t get to search all the site’s members’ profile.
Over-all, the site is jam packed with content. Quality-wise and quantity-wise, it’s pretty much a good site that you can spend your money on. |
